Why do I have no network link?
Check the Ethernet cable, wall jack, patch panel and switch port. Test the connection with a known-working cable and verify that the connected device is powered on and properly configured.
Why is my CAT6 or CAT6A connection not working after termination?
Inspect the RJ45 connector or keystone jack, verify the wiring follows the correct T568A or T568B standard and test all pairs with a cable tester.
Why is my Ethernet connection slow?
Check for damaged cable, poor terminations, incorrect cable category, excessive cable length or a device negotiating at a lower network speed.
How can I tell if an Ethernet cable is damaged?
Use a network cable tester to check continuity and pair order, inspect the cable for cuts, crushing or sharp bends and test the run with known-working equipment.
Why is my wall jack or keystone not working?
Check the termination at the keystone jack, verify each conductor is fully seated and confirm that the corresponding cable is connected to the correct patch panel and switch port.
Why is there a problem at the patch panel?
Inspect the punch-down connections, patch cords and port labels, verify the correct cable is terminated to the expected port and test the run from the patch panel to the wall outlet.
